I passed this lady amongst the tombstones in a shrine in Japan, laying some flowers. She has obviously seen much in her life, and blessed with memories to be carrying flowers for those she still loved.
The image of Paris (c) A. Harrison Ah, Paris in summer. A magical city at any time of the year. Under the summer sun even the streets sparkle. I wandered in long twilights filled with golden light, when the whole city seemed to be out enjoying the evening air.
I love my coffee. A tad of an obsession, maybe. Especially as I roast my own, which makes me more than a little fussy about what I drink. But then, when travelling it gives me an excuse to try different types around the world , such as at a street side stall in Vietnam.
A nice way to pass the afternoon I found this pair fishing by a canal in Kyoto. The Philosopher's Walk is a beautiful walk lined with cherry blossoms in the Higashiyama district. It begins at the Silver Pavilion and follows a walk taken most days by one of Japan's most famous philosophers, Nishida Kitaro - and also teddy bears.
